Folklore, fantasy, fashion, and photography are all part of the regional art scene for which Nogales is the epicenter. You need only glance at the colorful palette of downtown Nogales’ buildings and store windows to realize that a sense of style and need for self-expression are alive and well here.

Galleries show the work of local and regional artists in a variety of styles from traditional to abstract, from acrylics to oils to mosaics. You will see street art and public art, too – decorative tile work, modern and traditional statuary, murals, graffiti, and more.

Concerts in the park, string quartets in a concert hall, mariachi showdowns and charro shoot-outs draw crowds here. Opera and ballet are more common just across the border in Nogales, Sonora, but school concerts and student performances abound on this side, too. Theatre, movies, circuses, and festivals of every description round out the arts and entertainment calendar. There is never nothing to do in Nogales.
